INTRODUCTIONThe Hungarian Society of Cardiology (HSC) was founded in 1957 and by today it constitutes the integral part of European cardiology. The Youth Committee consisting of members under 35 years old was formed inside the HSC in 1992. Today it has more than 670 members. In the work of the committee such young experts delegated from Hungarian heart centers participate, who are committed to the continuous, high-standard training of young cardiologists and cardiologist candidates and find important the promotion of regular nationwide communication between cardiologists. Since 1993 the Cardiology Days for Young Cardiologists has been traditionally organized in April in Lillafüred. At this nationwide conference the regular attendance of those who work in the most different health institutions in Hungary as young cardiologists is about 300-350 persons. The aim of the conference is to get the young colleagues acquainted with the most recent diagnostic and therapeutic methods, the up-to-date knowledge of national and international cardiology and the novelties and innovative achievements reached in the field of cardiology.
In the young cardiologists’ section of the Annual Scientific Congress of HSC in May, one can listen to lectures on numerous clinical and research topics.
On both occasions, year after year the Youth Committee awards financial support for the attendance on national and foreign conferences to the presenters of the most successful lectures and case reviews.
